Making Good Use of Our Time - Life is short?

Recently, someone told me that life was too short and they were going to do what made them happy.
You say life is too short and that's why you make the choices that you do. YOLO, right? That was ingrained into folks' minds for so many years! Praise God for His wisdom and clarification on the matter.
Media shapes the generations. We have to be able to admit how it has shaped us.
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 tells you "life is short" and that you should "yolo" and make choices that feel good in the moment.
Short-term "happiness" and long-term peace are rarely the same thing....
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 is lost.
If it wounds us more than it heals us, why are we so unwilling to let it go?
If our choices rob us of peace, why do we still call them freedom?
Why do we keep drinking from wells that never satisfy?
"Life is short" isn’t a free pass to be reckless. Future you still has to live with what present you decides. Meaningful risk (like pursuing a goal) is very different from reckless risk (like ignoring obvious downsides).
People don’t stay in situations because they’re foolish; they stay because of attachment, hope, and fear of starting over. But staying doesn’t fix those things...it just delays the moment you ultimately have to deal with them....wasting your valuable time.
Time is valuable no matter how "short" you think life is, beloved.

1. “I should indulge every desire.”
orrrrr
2. “I shouldn’t waste my life on things that destroy my peace.”
God tells us in Ephesians 5 to make the best use of our time, because the days are evil.
Whether our earthly life is 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐫 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠, we are to make good use of our time.
May the grace of God be your peace today. Thinking of you and seeing you if you are struggling; I'm sharing some things that build up and edify me. I have tasted and seen what the world has to offer.
The battle for mind, body, and spirit is a real thing.

Who influences us, who we spend time with,
and who we surround ourselves
with is paramount.
So then, let us not sleep as the others do,
but let us remain awake and sober.
