JESUS, REALLY, IS ENOUGH.
Every believer who seeks to be intimate with the Lord will go through seasons where God will literally strip you of everything you wrap yourself in to feel complete, secure, and full, and He will strip you of everything that makes you feel stable and strong.
This may involve Him calling you out of your comfort zone into things that are not only completely new, but also very deeply discomfiting.
You may go through a time when people you thought you could lean on just let go of you, and you helplessly watch your heart slipping out of their hands.
You will be tempted to be bitter with them because the sense of abandonment will puzzle and break your heart.
You'll try desperately to reopen doors that are closing on you faster than you can blink, then it will hit you that maybe what you really need to do is to let those doors go.
You'll be in a place in life where whatever you were clutching on to that made your life feel predictable, and which gave you a sense of balance is taken away from you.
You'll feel exposed, vulnerable and broken. You'll feel shaken and...well, you'll feel like you're out there in the open and in the cold, all alone.
But in that very moment:
1. He will appear and clothe you with Himself.
2. You will know His personal touch in your heart.
3. You will experience His love and presence more tangibly than ever before.
4. He'll become more real to you than anything or anyone else, even more real than your own self
5. His Word will become very personal to you
6. You'll feel like you never really knew Him before and you're just starting to know Him now. You may even feel like getting born again...all over again! It will be like falling in love afresh with Him. It will be glorious!
That's when you'll understand the message behind the whole experience. And this is the message from Him: that HE IS ENOUGH.
Then, even after He has restored and settled you after the breaking up and the shaking up, you will not look for stability or strength in anyone or anything else, because He will have personally established that foundation in you.
And this is the foundation, that HE IS ENOUGH.
He strips us only so He can clothe us with Himself.
If you're being stripped in this season, be comforted. The Lord is coming to clothe you with Himself. Don't run after anything or anyone in a desperate bid to regain your sense of security and stability. Turn your eyes upon Jesus. Look to HIM.
