Don't get lost in letters on a page and puffed up with knowledge of the Scriptures and forget this. Something to remember as you study
“You search the Scriptures because you think they give you eternal life. But the Scriptures point to me!
Yet you refuse to come to me to receive this life."
John 5:39-40
The question frequently comes up, “Which version of the Bible is the most reliable?” How about we study from several versions, use concordances, and use the discernment the Holy Spirit gives us? After all, all versions have been altered from the original in one way or another. Jesus Christ is the Word and we preach Christ crucified.
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:14 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
1 Corinthians 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. 1 Corinthians 1:18-25 18For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God!! 19 For it is written, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the discernment of the discerning I will thwart.”
20 Where is the one who is wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? 21 For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach to save those who believe.
22 For Jews demand signs and Greeks seek wisdom, 23 but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles, 24 but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25 For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
