SABBATH: Has the ultimate seventh-day rest already happened?

Updated: Feb 13

A ritual that helps you keep Jesus first in your life isn't a bad thing. But do not create a barrier for entry (stumbling block) into the family of Jesus for others who aren't doing the same rituals as you do. Do all things for the glory of God (not self) no matter what you do.

Paul gets really worked up in his writings in the New Testament about anyone trying to create a barrier to people receiving the Grace of God. Speak the truth in love and let the Holy Spirit do the convicting.

Do not make the Sabbath or the Law a stumbling block for other believers or make them question their salvation. We shouldn't condemn others or create a barrier for entry into the family of Jesus
ย
And vice-versa.

If you do not partake in the Sabbath in the way of setting aside a day, do not condemn those who do.

Be wise as serpents and harmless as doves. Speak truth in love and not puffed up with knowledge of the scriptures. Be humble and loving.

๐’๐€๐๐๐€๐“๐‡: Has the ultimate seventh-day rest already happened? Learn what the book of Hebrews has to say about this question, and discover why there were seven stories of rebellion when the Israelites wandered in the wilderness.

๐Š๐„๐˜ ๐“๐€๐Š๐„๐€๐–๐€๐˜๐’ from the podcast linked below:

*The book of Hebrews is written to Messianic Jews who are extremely familiar with the Old Testament.
ย
*Hebrews 3 is built around a long quote from Psalm 95, which is a psalm reflecting on Israelโ€™s failure to enter into the promised land of rest.
ย
*Israel rebelled seven times against the Lord in the wilderness.
ย
*The ultimate seventh day rest has been inaugurated by Jesus, but has not seen its complete fulfillment yet? Explanation is in podcast.

If we can put our modern controversies aside and ask what the seventh day meant to ancient Israelites, a whole new world opens up, literally and metaphorically!

The seventh day is a common biblical theme that is repeated in dozens of stories and poems throughout the Hebrew Bible. The number seven is spelled with the same letters as the Hebrew word "complete" or "full," and itโ€™s an image of complete goodness.

I rest in Jesus Christ and His finished work on the cross.

The jubilee of jubilees! The ultimate rest. If you choose to observe a day of the week for Sabbath, this is a great and informative post linked below:

This is going a bit off topic, but I need somewhere to stash it and after reading this Sabbath post, especially if you clicked on the "Keeping Sabbath Holy" link up there, you may be wondering a bit about the "Old Testament" Law.

I have some notes here that you could use to test and pray about some things we may not fully understand yet, me included.

His timing. We keep studying and asking Him for wisdom and revelation.

I'm learning WITH you. And I appreciate learning from others. Iron sharpens iron.

The โ€œOld Testamentโ€ Laws

The 'Old Testament' and The Law - My Notes

Some think the "613 Laws" in the Old Testament are too many to keep. But not all commands mentioned in the โ€œOld Testamentโ€ are for everyone. I have not found a specific list that shows which laws apply to who, but when we are doing our bible reading, the scriptures will say who it applies to. Itโ€™s just in the books of the bible many do not want to make time to read because weโ€™ve been taught the โ€œOTโ€ isnโ€™t important.
